Brenda's Banter

I'm certain we are all glad to see Spring arrive and this past Winter go by the wayside. Spring is busting out all over and so is our construction project! They are making tremendous progress and are sticking with their estimated completion date of June 11th. It appears we will only have a few weeks to suffer through the heat here and should be in our new building before the worst of the summer heat arrives. The building was designed to be a comfortable and efficient building, but let me tell you, it's looking like a showplace to us.

We will have the capacity to serve more people and will have the opportunity to provide those people new job skills. We have already contracted with some of our industrial partners to take on jobs in our new building that we were unable to do for them here.

We participated in the United Way "Live United Day" yesterday. A group of volunteers from Walmart Financial Shared Services came and helped us with our annual Field Day. Our clients took some time off from work and training to participate in outside games and a cookout. It was a perfect day for it. We certainly appreciate Angela McKinley and her co-workers for volunteering and making it a fun day. We also thank United Way for their continued support.

Industrial Partner Profile

Actionpaq Corporation in Rogers, is a sales corporation that has recently become one of our new Industrial Partners and is one of our neighbors on Town West Drive.  The job ADC is doing involves placing potting soil into a bag and sealing it with a twist tie. The bags go into a kit that includes seeds and a pot to grow watermelons or peppers.

ADC welcomes Actionpaq Corporation as a new Industrial Partner!

Give ADC a chance to show you what our dedicated and reliable workforce can do for your off-line production needs. For more information: dzajicek@adcnwa.org  eduncan@adcnwa.org

Client Connection

We like to think that ADC is a multifaceted experience for our clients; a resource for learning, working, personal and social growth. Lifelong friendships have been formed while working at ADC; friendships like John and Shawnda. Our culture values work as a necessary element to a "successful" life; work without relationships though, is like cake without the all important icing. I think John and Shawnda would agree that the work and training opportunities are what drew them to ADC but the friendships are the "icing on the cake."

Volunteer Vision

Rhonda Woodruff is at it again. Don't avoid her calls, because she will find you! It is auction time, and Rhonda is spending her days going to her usual auction donors to get clever and enticing items for the upcoming ADC Luau.  Rhonda is known best for her Auction Collection Tactics - her ACT. Rhonda is the volunteer who goes above and beyond to get the item, no matter what obstacles may rise! She has a technique like no other, and her passion for ADC is why people cannot tell her no.  She will be calling you - so save her the call, folks. Email Rhonda and tell her what you can donate for the auction!  jawoodruff1@cox.net
All of us at ADC know that Rhonda is a tough ACT to follow. Thank you Rhonda - we appreciate and love you!
